2003 LMIT-North Spring Shoot

The shoot was held on April 11-13, 2003 at the Garcia Hacienda.
We got the target setup completed by mid-afternoon Friday and got to shoot a round before dinner. This turned out to be a good idea because the rest of the weekend consisted of rain and more rain. We shot in the rain Saturday and got to see how well our arrows were tuned. After drying out by a warm fire on Saturday night we tried again on Sunday. There was a slight pause in the weather and we actually were able to strip down to one layer of clothing. However, the skies opened up again and we just made it through the round before heading back inside.

In spite of the wet conditions everyone had a good time. The array of food was superb as usual, thanks to Ludy and the Garcias had a fine wine selection.
Pat came by on Sunday afternoon and showed us why our weather wasn't really that bad: it had been SNOWING up the road at his place.

The intrepid warriors pose for a group shot before departing to the wilds.
Ok, now if we misjudge the distance, it's going to be hell searching through this tall grass...
The ultra-fantastic 'Ali Gator' shot. Pay attention and it's not so bad, but go high and you land in the next pond over the ridge. This became the famous 'whining' shot of the weekend.
We put a bear down in a depression and let the grass cover most of him up. It was a great shot in terms of distance estimation and shot placement through the grass.
And finally, how about a hillside shot with no real visual references to determine the yardage. Oh yeah, then there's the tall grass if you miss...
